Managing Users with System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM)

This topic describes how to manage users in Flexera One using System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM) integration with Microsoft Entra ID through the Azure portal.

Update User Information

To update user information in Flexera One:

  1. In the Azure portal, go to Users and select the user you want to modify.
  2. Click Edit and update the user details as needed.
  3. Save the changes.
  4. Wait for the automatic synchronization to occur (typically within 40 minutes).

The updated user information will be automatically synchronized to Flexera One during the next provisioning cycle.

Disable User Access

Disabling a user sets their active attribute to false. When a user is disabled, they cannot sign in to Flexera One, but they remain part of the organization and will appear in the User Management menu. When the user is enabled again, they will retain all previously assigned roles and groups.

To disable a user's access to Flexera One while keeping their account in the organization:

  1. In the Azure portal, go to Enterprise Applications > [Your Application] > Users & Groups.
  2. Select the user and click Remove Assignment.
  3. Wait for the automatic synchronization to occur (typically within 40 minutes).

The user remains in the organization but cannot sign in to Flexera One.

Delete User Account

Deleting a user permanently removes them from the organization, including all their roles and groups.

To permanently remove a user from Flexera One:

  1. In the Azure portal, remove the application assignment for the user by going to Enterprise Applications > Users and Groups, selecting the user, and clicking Remove assignment.

  2. Delete the user account by going to Users, selecting the user, and clicking Delete. The user account is moved to the recycle bin in Azure.

  3. You can either wait for the user account to be permanently deleted in Azure, or manually delete it by going to Users > Deleted Users, selecting the user, and clicking Delete Permanently.

  4. Wait for the automatic synchronization to occur (typically within 40 minutes).

important

Deleting a user account in Azure removes the user from Azure AD and all enterprise applications to which they have been assigned, including Flexera One. Only perform this action when permanently removing a user from your organization.
